Redesigning The Wheelchair - Serenity Part 1

Serenity is a complete rethink on how a rigid manual frame should work. Not only is the appearance of the wheelchair radically different but the method its assembled. By removing a lot of the weight from the frame and passing the structural strength through the seat. The design has stripped the wheelchair down to its core components. This helps disabled users adjust to a lighter chair when pushing the rear wheel. The outcome of the first step of this project was an aesthetically pleasing rigid framed chair.

Second stage of development is to adjust the frame from a rigid into a folding frame.
